A Matter of Balance is a free, evidence-based program developed at the Roybal Center at Boston University, which looks at practical strategies to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels in participants. Participants learn to view falls and fear of falls as controllable, set attainable goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and exercise to increase strength and balance.
CDSMP was developed by a team of researchers at Stanford University. It’s a self-management education workshop attended by people with a variety of chronic health conditions. It aims to build participants’ confidence in managing their health and keep them active and engaged in their lives.
